Payment Options

I operate as a fully private pay practice, which means I do not accept insurance. This allows me to focus entirely on providing personalized care without the constraints of insurance requirements. However, there are various payment options available for you, as detailed below, to make the process as accessible and convenient as possible.

HSAs (Health Savings Account)

You can use your HSA to pay for services, making it a great way to utilize pre-tax dollars for your healthcare.

FSAs (Flexible Spending Account)

Similar to HSAs, FSAs allow you to use pre-tax funds for your therapy sessions, providing additional savings.

Major Credit/Debit Cards

I accept all major credit and debit cards for easy, secure payments.

Out-of-Network Benefits

You may be able to be reimbursed by your insurance company even though I am out of network. I can provide a superbill—an itemized receipt detailing the services rendered—that you can submit to your insurance company for potential reimbursement/partial reimbursement.  It's important to check with your insurance company to find out if they accept superbills.

Credit Card on File

Policy

To streamline the payment process and ensure a smooth experience, I require all clients to have a credit card on file. This helps facilitate timely payments for sessions and allows me to handle any late cancellation or no-show fees efficiently. By keeping your payment information securely on file, I can focus more on your progress and less on administrative tasks.

Commitment & Cancellation Policy

Maintaining a consistent therapeutic schedule is essential for your progress. Here’s what you need to know:

Commitment

Having too much time between sessions can create setbacks in your progress. It may be harder to maintain momentum and revisit important topics, making it challenging to build on the work we've done together.

Weekly or bi-weekly sessions usually work best to keep the ball rolling, depending on your specific needs and situation.

Cancellation Policy

If you need to cancel or reschedule an appointment, please let me know at least 24 hours in advance. Cancellations and no shows within this timeframe will result in a fee of $50 charged to the card on file. Please note that cancellation fees are not eligible for reimbursement by your insurance company.

This policy respects my time and helps ensure that everyone can access the care they need.

Billing Transparency & Clients Rights

There are laws that govern your rights to know certain financial information and processes.  Below are summarized versions of these laws/acts.

No Surprises Act

The No Surprises Act is important for you as a counseling client because it helps protect you from unexpected medical bills. This law ensures that you won’t receive surprise charges when you receive care from out-of-network providers without prior notice.

Good Faith Estimate

A good faith estimate is a crucial tool designed to help you understand the potential costs of your counseling services before you receive them. Under the No Surprises Act, you have the right to request this estimate, which outlines the expected charges for your sessions.

This estimate will include details about the services you may receive, along with an approximate total cost. While it’s important to note that the actual charges may vary depending on your specific treatment plan, a good faith estimate gives you a clearer picture of what to expect financially.
